Hi, my name is Chrissy.

Here’s a little about me.

Education & Experience

I attended Sam Houston State University for both my undergraduate degree and my graduate degree. I hold a bachelors of science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology, and I hold a masters of arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Before I became a therapist, I worked as an English teacher in junior high and high school. Teaching English Language Arts was very special to me as it led to conversations about emotions, thought processes, and motivations. It also held a space for teens to express themselves and find their voice.

After graduating with my masters degree, I worked at a residential facility for children and adolescents with acute trauma. I worked with individual teens, their families, and also ran group therapy. I was able to explore and hone skills in multiple modalities.

Hobbies & Interests

I’m really passionate about video games, music, traveling, and reading. Video games are a huge part of my life and how I met some of my best friends. I love RPGs that involve exploring and solving puzzles. Just like reading, there's a wide variety of genres in gaming that can appeal to anyone. They’re a great way to escape and try something new.

Music has been a big part of my life since I was a kid. I played in my high school band, and even now, I keep up with playing piano on my own. I’m also a huge fan of live music. On any given weekend, my friends and family can probably find me at a local music venue.

Traveling to new cities, states, and countries with loved ones is truly one of the best parts of life. I love experiencing different foods, music, and cultures. It’s such a special way to connect and learn more about the world around us.
